The cottage was practically stripped down to its bare bones, solidified, and insulated inside and out. The block foundation was reinforced with poured concrete. Doors and windows were replaced, the roof shingles were changed, the ventilation and, insulation in the attic were improved. The fireplace was replaced, the kitchen, and the second-floor divisions are in process.

Outside, on the property, a wood storage area was built, a small pond was created, the driveway paved, and the pavers were used as a walkway and a patio for a fire pit.

The stone wall between us and the neighbor further back was redone.

The interior finishing work remains to be done, including

replacing the electrical panel and connecting the toilet on the main floor to the septic tank.

NOTE: It would be possible to install heated floors on the ground floor; the floor has been reinforced for this purpose. The plumbing in the powder room is planned to accommodate a sink and washer-dryer.
